When your car’s air conditioning isn’t keeping you cool, On The Move Mechanical Repairs (AU34159) is the team to call for professional car air conditioning regas, repairs, servicing and inspections in Preston and surrounding areas. Modern vehicles are complex machines, and just like the engine, the air conditioning system contains components that can wear, develop leaks or require servicing. Regular attention can help maintain reliable, efficient operation and keep your car comfortable throughout the year. Is Keeping Your Cool Costing You Fuel? A loss of refrigerant through leaks or natural evaporation can reduce your air conditioner’s performance, causing the system to work harder and potentially increasing fuel consumption. That’s why it’s important to have your car air conditioning system checked for signs of leaks, worn rubber seals or other issues that could lead to refrigerant loss. On The Move Mechanical Repairs also performs a basic air conditioning system check with every vehicle service, helping identify potential problems before they become more costly. A simple maintenance tip for every driver is to run the air conditioning for a few minutes each month, even during cooler weather. This helps keep the system operating regularly and can help identify changes in performance early. Regular car air conditioning servicing can help prevent unexpected breakdowns, maintain passenger comfort and reduce the risk of unwanted build-up within the system. A well-maintained air con system can also operate more efficiently, helping you save money in the long run. On The Move Mechanical Repairs cares about the environment and holds Arctick Authorisation (AU34159) to responsibly carry out automotive air conditioning regas, repairs, servicing and inspections. Book your car air conditioning service with On The Move Mechanical Repairs today and stay comfortable on the road.

By identifying issues early, you can avoid unexpected breakdowns and costly repairs. We are Open Mon - Fri from 8am to 5pm and Saturdays By Appointment Impacts of Cold Weather Cold weather can have a significant impact on your battery’s performance. Lower temperatures slow down the chemical reactions within the battery, reducing its ability to deliver power. For vehicles with older batteries, routine testing becomes even more important. Most car batteries have a lifespan of three to five years, but regular testing after the three-year mark is recommended to ensure continued reliability. Engines that operate through internal combustion rely on large amounts of clean air to ensure the fuel burns properly and generates the power needed to drive the vehicle. At On The Move Mechanical Repairs in Preston, we understand how vital it is to keep your car's air filter in good condition as part of protecting your engine's health. Your engine requires extremely clean air to function efficiently. Dirt, dust, and other particles entering the engine can cause serious damage. That’s where the air filter comes into play. It ensures the air entering the combustion chambers is clean, shielding key engine components such as the pistons and cylinders from wear and damage. Why Replace Your Air Filter? Save on Fuel Costs: Your engine requires the correct balance of fuel and air to run efficiently. A clogged air filter restricts airflow, causing your engine to run inefficiently – often referred to as ‘running rich.’ This not only puts additional stress on your engine but can also increase fuel consumption by up to 10%. No one likes spending more on petrol than necessary! Protect Your Engine: Over time, air filters become clogged and weaker, increasing the risk of damage. A damaged or overly dirty air filter can allow harmful particles to enter the engine, potentially leading to expensive repairs. Benefits of Replacing Your Air Filter: Extends the life of your engine Improves fuel efficiency Reduces vehicle emissions At On The Move Mechanical Repairs, we always check the condition of your air filter during every full car service. Whether it’s a major or minor service, or one that follows your manufacturer’s handbook or logbook guidelines, you can trust us to keep your engine running smoothly.

Keep your engine healthy with clean air filters. Improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and extend engine life. Visit On The Move Mechanical Repairs for expert maintenance and reliable car servicing.
